Therapeutic massage increasingly is being prescribed by physicians to complement traditional medical treatment for illness, injury and pain as a growing body of research documents its efficacy.

Therapeutic massage involves manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body. It soothes and calms, and aids in stress reduction; and it may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness.

* THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Initial 60 minute session will include a consultation, assessment, and massage to determine treatment goals and plan. We will evaluate your progress each session, adjusting therapy and goals as needed. Education, home care, and remedial exercise are also important components of your therapy.

* RELAXATION MASSAGE

A smooth, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, improves circulation and range of movement, and relieves muscular tension.

* PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Massage therapy is a natural way for a pregnant woman to reduce stress, manage pain and discomfort, and achieve an overall sense of well being while honoring her bodies needs. A specially designed body cushion allows complete comfort and safety while lying on side or belly.

* SPORTS MASSAGE

Combining different techniques to enhance sports performance, massage is an effective component of any training program. Also an important recovery tool, massage can be used to address specific sports injuries, orthopedics and rehabilitation.

* MUSCLE BALANCE and FUNCTION DEVELOPEMENT ®

A progression of sequential exercises oriented to each patient’s individual needs, targeting intrinsic postural muscle groups and retraining the neuromuscular system. MBFD improves posture, alignment and function.

* MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a safe, gentle and effective approach to eliminating pain, restrictions, and to restoring function. This hands-on technique addresses fascia, a tough connective tissue that runs as a three-dimensional web through your entire body without interruption. This is not a system of separate coverings, but actually one uninterrupted structure that exists from your head to your feet. In this way you can begin to understand how each part of your body is connected to every other part by fascia. Inflammation or trauma such as a fall, surgery, injury or habitual poor posture can create a binding down of fascia, resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, blood vessels, muscles, bones and/or organs. MFR treatments focus on determining and releasing the cause of imbalance in the body, thus reducing the symptoms felt and optimizing health and vitality.

* CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is the deepest form of Myofascial Release treatment. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the cranium (bones of the skull, face and mouth) down to the sacrum (tailbone). The light, hands-on approach assists the natural hydraulic forces of the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of your brain and spinal cord, dissipate the negative effects of stress and enhance your general health and resistance to disease. CST facilitates the health of your central nervous system, your “master computer”, and therefore positively benefits your entire body, including your musculo-skeletal, fascial, digestive, cardiovascular, lymphatic, reproductive and respiratory systems. CST is especially beneficial for people who have experienced head trauma, birthing trauma, chronic headaches or migraines, hormonal imbalances, menstrual problems, depression or stress, and can be safely used to treat a wide variety of symptoms in patients of all ages.

DID YOU KNOW
– infrared saunas offer the same health benefits of traditional saunas, yet are more comfortable as they operate at a lower heat temperature ( between106 ?f and 13 ? f ), and are ventilated for a continuous flow of fresh air.
– the radiant heat reaches deep, as much as 1.5 inches below the skin, producing 2-3 times more sweat.
– the lower heat level means an infrared sauna uses only about half the energy of a traditional sauna.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have any existing health conditions or are taking prescription medications, we recommend that you consult your physician before using the sauna. Pregnant clients should not use the sauna.
